A paleo diet is an ideal diet that is created from the nutritional foods established by cavemen during the Paleolithic era which ended some ten thousand years ago. The food eaten by humans during the Paleolithic era includes wild animals and plants. This diet is recognized as an appropriate diet for humans because the sources of the foods on the diet are natural. The concept of the paleo diet is that an optimum diet for humans should be closely related to the diet of humans that lived before the development of agricultural practices.

One of the important components of the paleo diet food list is meat, which should be eaten without much of the fats because of the heart diseases associated with cholesterol. Hence, lean meat is the appropriate meat that can be added to a paleo diet food list. Lean meat is the meat with a low amount of fats because all the visible fats on the meat have been trimmed off and the list of lean meats include lean veal, flank steak, London broil, lean beef, top sirloin steak, extra-lean hamburger, chuck steak, and other lean cuts.

Lean poultry is also part of the paleo diet food list and the list includes game hen breast, turkey breast, and chicken breast with the skin removed. Eggs are also an important food item in the paleo diet food list but it shouldn’t be eaten more than six times a week. Goose eggs, duck eggs, and chicken eggs that contain a great amount of Omega-3 can be added to paleo meals. Other meats that are allowed on the paleo diet include goat, rabbit, and game meats.

Other essential foods in the paleo diet food list are fruits and vegetables. Some people have a misconception about the addition of fruits to diets but fruits are great additions to our daily meals. Fruits do not contain many calories and they are good sources of essential vitamins. Fruits like papaya, pears, oranges, watermelons, pineapples, pomegranates, apricots, bananas, apples, and grapes are highly recommended for the paleo diet.

In summary, an ideal and healthy paleo diet food list should include vegetables, fish, lean meat, nuts, fruits, seeds, and roots. However, foods such as refined sugar, processed oils, legumes, dairy products, and salt should not be included in the list. Therefore, make sure you are disciplined to use the food items mentioned and avoid the foods that are not allowed to improve your health.
